Ronald McDonald House Charities

This is the first year of many more to come, where E2 is hosting a charity Fantasy Football league where the league fees ($600) are donated to the winning team’s selected organization. E2 will also match the total to allow the winning team’s charitable organization to receive $1,200 in financial support. Each participant can pick any charitable organization in any area of life (not intended for only mental health awareness). Every week, I will write an article highlighting each organization represented and give a brief overview of the services provided. My wife Samantha and I are honored to be able to have this platform to raise awareness and support for these deserving organizations and are so grateful for the participants this year who are graciously donating! Also, the interest we have received is a good sign for next year where we may be able to run multiple leagues which would be a dream scenario! So if this sounds like something you’d like to do, please reach out and I will add you to my list for 2025!

To get us started, my good friend Justin has selected the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Justin and his wife have three beautiful children and two of them required medical care Riley’s Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. During their time at the hospital, they utilized some of services offered by RMHC and it provided them the relief and support needed in such a critical time. I know from my conversations with Justin, having this support helped provide some comfort and even a safe space to breathe as he and his wife processed their emotions this difficult time. With that being said, Justin and his wife’s children are now healthy and progressing through their developmental milestones! It goes by fast, so hang on my friend!

RMHC has three core programs which include their house programs, family room programs, and a care mobile program. The house program offers lodging to families with children under the age of 21 who have a child receiving medical care. It is offered at no cost to the family. The purpose of this service is to provide a place for families to receive quality sleep and be able to practice self-care away from the hospital. The family room program is similar to the house programming in that it’s separate from the clinical nature of the hospital where families can go to take a nap, access a stove or microwave to make a meal, take a shower, or sip on a cup of coffee. And the care mobile program utilizes a fleet of 40 foot vehicles that travel to underserved communities and provide high-quality medical care. They can provide school and sports physicals, immunizations, blood testing, dental care, and so much more.

The impact of the RMHC is significant. According to their website, last year alone they saved families over $736 million in lodging and meals. They are located in 62 countries and have over 1,000 programs worldwide. They are able to provide these services to families based on the generous donations from individuals and company sponsorships. This a truly wonderful program and if you’d like to get involved, I have include several links below:
